Columbia Water & Richland County Stormwater Rain Barrel and Compost Bin Sale

Columbia, SC– The City and County are pleased to announce the spring Barrel & Bin
program offering “Ivy” rain barrels and backyard compost bins is now open. Columbia
Water & Richland County Stormwater is offering the rain barrels at a discounted price to
encourage residents to conserve precious water resources as well as to protect water
quality. Compost bins are used to reduce household food scraps going into our landfill.

The rain barrels and compost bins can be pre-purchased directly through the program’s
website using a credit card. The rain barrels normally retail for $149.00 but through this
special promotion they are only $75.00 and the compost bins are only $65.00.
For a limited time and while supplies last residents can order now for a Saturday,
March 23rd pick up in Columbia from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 3000 Harden St,
Columbia, SC 29203. Quantities are limited. Deadline to place online orders is
Wednesday, March 13th. There will be no on-site sales.

protecting our water quality and managing the damaging effects of stormwater runoff.
The use of rain barrels will provide residents the tools they need to conserve water,
prevent water pollution, and reduce sedimentation in our lakes and rivers.”
