2012 - 2013 Hospitality Grant Application Workshops
The City of Columbia is now accepting 2012-2013 Hospitality Tax applications and we are conducting two workshops for our Hospitality Tax grant. The workshops are being held to assist in the Hospitality application process . The first workshop will be Thursday, Feb 16th @ the Capital Senior Center near Maxcy Gregg Park from 12-2:00pm and everyone is invited to bring their lunch. The second workshop will be on Thursday February 23 @ Carolina Wings on Gervais Street from 5-7:00pm We will have a separate room and orders will be taken from the menu. SCE&G Trimming Activities to Resume within City Limits

To vote in South Carolina you must be registered. To register to vote, you must:

  • Be a citizen of the United States of America
  • Be a resident of South Carolina, this county and precinct
  • Not be under a court declaring you mentally incompetent
  • Not be confined in any public prison resulting from a conviction of a crime
  • Never been convicted of a felony or offence against the election laws OR, if previously convicted, served your entire sentence including probation or parole or have received a pardon for the conviction
  • Claim only one address as legal residence

Applications to vote may be made in person at the Voter Registration Office at 2020 Hampton Street or at legally organized voter registration drives throughout the County. Additionally, you may register by completing a mail-in form and returning it to:

There is no length of residency requirement in South Carolina in order to register to vote. You can register at any time.

You must be registered at least 30 days prior to any election in order to vote in that election. Registration by mail must be postmarked no later than 30 days prior to that particular election to be eligible.

 

Students

Students may register to vote where they attend college only if they establish that they are a bona fide resident of that community. In establishing such residency, students must demonstrate that they intend to remain in the community permanently or indefinitely.
