The Historic Columbia Foundation is committed to preserving local history. We serve as stewards of historic sites, collect artifacts that help us tell the community's stories, and advocate for the preservation of our built history. As a non-profit organization we rely on your support to fulfill our mission.

The Cultural Council of Richland/Lexington Counties is the centralized resource for the Arts Community, providing leadership, funding and business expertise to artists and arts organizations, and offering a single source of arts-related information to patrons and media.

The Columbia Music Festival Association, founded in 1897 by the City of Columbia as a joint partnership between local government and the private sector, the CMFA is a resource for the community. With a 20,000 sq. ft. adaptive reuse warehouse in the historic Congaree Vista,  CMFA ArtSpace provides rehearsal, performance, and volunteer work  space for many new, emerging and civic artists and arts organizations.  CMFA’s mandate is “ to educate, discover, develop, train, assist and promote the performing arts through its affiliate organizations, to nurture new and emerging arts organizations and to serve as an arts resource and support council.”

Ann Brodie's Carolina Ballet is a pre-professional classical civic ballet company, open to all qualified dancers through open audition.  This company presents the “Stars of Tomorrow…On Stage Today” in performances spanning the classical and contemporary dance spectrum.  The structured dance training and performance experience under the auspices of this company has given many young and aspiring performers the opportunity not only to become the community leaders and arts audiences of the future, but also many have gone on to dance on stages throughout the United States and Europe.

The Columbia City Ballet  is Columbia's internationally renowned ballet. Artistic Director William Starrett, formally of the New York City Ballet, runs the company. The Columbia City Ballet specializes in top quality productions, including Columbia favorite, Dracula.

The Columbia Classical Ballet Company has been providing audiences with beautiful classical ballet productions since 1991. The company is dedicated to providing quality productions as well as supporting the community through very active outreach programs.

The South Carolina Philharmonic Orchestra is Columbia's resident orchestra. Under the direction of Maestro Nicholas Smith, the Philharmonic produces a full season of outstanding orchestral performances each year. World-renowned musicians come to Columbia to perform as guest artists with the orchestra.

The Palmetto Mastersingers were formed in 1981 by the legendary Dr. Arpad Daras. The Mastersingers promote the male chorus repertoire in performances throughout the state.

The Sandlapper Singers are a professional vocal ensemble whose specialty is "chamber singing with style." Because they are smaller than most choruses, the Sandlapper Singers are able to perform a wide variety of works that will bring tears to your eyes or a smile to your lips.

The Columbia College Department of Music is host to a variety of musical performances. Guest artists from around the world as well as local musicians fill the stages of Columbia College with instrumental and vocal music throughout the year.

The South Carolina Summer Dance Conservatory is held at the University of South Carolina each July and August. Students come from all over the world to train in ballet and jazz with internationally renowned faculty members.

The USC String Project is a program for undergraduate music education string majors. This event provides students with practical hands-on experience in teaching music.
