The Environmental Health Division's mission is to enforce the health ordinances of the City of Columbia and investigate requests for services. In addition, the division is responsible for spraying for mosquitoes, larviciding low and swampy areas and poisoning rodents in sewer mains and storm drains throughout the city. These ordinances pertain to such health concerns as rodent control, preventive maintenance for mosquito control, nuisance complaints and litter and solid waste control.
