Mayor Coble to Speak at Greater Columbia Community Relations Council 46th Annual Luncheon
The Greater Columbia Community Relations Council (CRC) will hold its 46th Annual Luncheon on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 12:30p.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln Street. Mayor Bob Coble will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon. Tickets for this event are available to the public at the cost of $35 per person and must be purchased in advance by contacting the CRC office at 803.733.1130.

The City of Columbia is now accepting grant applications for the 2010-2011 year for Hospitality Tax, Accommodations Tax, and Community Promotions Funding.

Job Title: ACCOUNTING TECH II (ACCOUNTING)
Pay: $27,378 / Annual
Nature of Work
The purpose of this position is to perform routine-to-moderately complex technical accounting work in the processing of accounts payable for the City, and to perform a variety of other clerical and bookkeeping tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of accounting records.
 
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school, vocational school, or GED with two (2) years work experience verifying incoming invoices for accuracy and completeness, processing invoices for payment, reconciling vendor statements, and auditing vendor files; or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
 
Special Requirements:
Preference may be given to applicants who possess and maintain a valid SC Class “D” Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have knowledge of personal computer equipment working in a mainframe environment as well as skill in the use of Microsoft Office preferred, utilizing Outlook, word processing, spreadsheet and accounting software programs and have good data entry skills. Preference may be given to applicants who have IFAS and 10-key (8000 kph) experience
