2012 - 2013 Hospitality Grant Application Workshops
The City of Columbia is now accepting 2012-2013 Hospitality Tax applications and we are conducting two workshops for our Hospitality Tax grant. The workshops are being held to assist in the Hospitality application process . The first workshop will be Thursday, Feb 16th @ the Capital Senior Center near Maxcy Gregg Park from 12-2:00pm and everyone is invited to bring their lunch. The second workshop will be on Thursday February 23 @ Carolina Wings on Gervais Street from 5-7:00pm We will have a separate room and orders will be taken from the menu. Job Title: STORMWATER ENFORCEMENT (CONSTRUCTION MANAGEMENT)
Pay: $41,249 - $53,624/ANNUAL
Nature of Work
The purpose of this position is to implement storm water management inspections, reports, and enforcement related to the City’s Storm Water Ordinance and in support of the S.C. NPDES General Permit for Storm Water Discharges from Large and Small Construction Activities, Permit No. SCS790001. The class will be required to monitor industrial operations for compliance with plans, specifications, regulations and standards of quality and safety; and to perform related administrative and technical work as required.
 
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in water chemistry, water pollution enforcement and regulatory engineering, or closely related field with one (1) year of work experience in coordinating and monitoring the operation and practices of industries within the City to ensure all storm water management facilities and safety procedures are in compliance. Preference may be given to applicants with knowledge and/or responsibility of paraprofessional engineering work, storm water management, environmental enforcement and/or certification in sediment and erosion control inspections.
 
Special Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class “D” Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have knowledge of personal computer equipment with skill in the use of Microsoft Office preferred, utilizing Outlook, word processing and spreadsheet software programs as well as data entry skills. Must possess or be able to obtain certification in sediment and erosion control inspections (CEPSCI) within one (1) year from date of hire or promotion. Preference may be given to applicants with water pollution enforcement background and/or experience.
