Mayor Coble to Speak at Greater Columbia Community Relations Council 46th Annual Luncheon
The Greater Columbia Community Relations Council (CRC) will hold its 46th Annual Luncheon on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 12:30p.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln Street. Mayor Bob Coble will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon. Tickets for this event are available to the public at the cost of $35 per person and must be purchased in advance by contacting the CRC office at 803.733.1130.

The City of Columbia is now accepting grant applications for the 2010-2011 year for Hospitality Tax, Accommodations Tax, and Community Promotions Funding.

Job Title: INTERN T/PT (PUBLIC WORKS)
Pay: $11.28 / HOUR NO CITY BENEFITS
Nature of Work
The purpose of this position is to provide staff assistance to the Public Works Director on a variety of difficult and complex administrative issues, and to perform related office duties as assigned.
 
Qualifications:
Graduation from high school, vocational school, or GED supplemented by one (1) year of college education in business, education, public administration or closely related field with six (6) months progressively responsible work experience as a staff analyst, staff assistant or higher level; public sector experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience.
 
Special Requirements:
Selected applicant must be able to type 30 CWPM. Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class “D” Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record. Must have knowledge of personal computer equipment with skill in the use of Microsoft Office preferred, utilizing Outlook, Excel, word processing and presentation software programs as well as data entry skills. Flexible work schedule between sixteen (16) to twenty (20) hours per week.
