Third Annual Boots & Badges Blood Drive
The Columbia Police Department and Columbia-Richland Fire Department are partnering with the American Red Cross South Carolina Blood Services Region for the third annual “Boots and Badges” blood drive. The event will be held at the American Red Cross Columbia donation center, 2751 Bull St. 7a.m.- 2p.m. Friday, May 25; Saturday, May 26, and Monday, May 28 11a.m.- 7p.m. Tuesday, May 29 and Wednesday, May 30

Job Title: WELLNESS COORDINATOR (FITNESS)
Pay: $32,002 - $41,602/ANNUAL
Nature of Work
The purpose of this position is to be responsible for planning, designing, implementing and supervising youth, adult, and senior citizen exercise programs, group and personal training, health screenings, cardiac rehabilitation programs, and special events for all areas of fitness and wellness at the facility to include being responsible for all fitness floor staff, fitness program instructors, new member screenings, testing and orienting, plus staff from affiliated fitness partners.
 
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology, physical education, health promotion, exercise science, or closely related field with one (1) year of work experience in exercise science with knowledge of cardiac and gerontology rehabilitation, and one (1) year of related management experience.
 
Special Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid SC Class “D” Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record. Must possess and maintain or be able to obtain certification in the health and fitness field from ACSM, ACE, or other nationally recognized certifying agency within three (3) months from date of hire or promotion. Must possess and maintain current certifications in First Aid and CPR for the Professional Rescuer. Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, supervisory and organizational skills.
