Daylight Saving Time to Begin on March 14th - REMINDER TO CHANGE YOUR CLOCK AND SMOKE ALARM BATTERIES It's Time to Spring Forward. On Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 2:00a.m., Daylight Saving Time begins in the United States. Citizens are reminded to move their clocks one hour ahead. Daylight Saving Time is four weeks longer since 2007 due to the passage of the Energy Policy Act in 2005. The Act extended Daylight Saving Time by four weeks from the second Sunday of March to the first Sunday of November, in order to save thousands of barrels of oil each day through reduced use of power by businesses during daylight hours. Daylight Saving Time is also a great time to remember to change the batteries in your smoke alarms. Click the link above for details.
