It's Time to Spring Forward - Daylight Saving Time to Begin on March 14th
On Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 2:00a.m., Daylight Saving Time begins in the United States. Citizens are reminded to move their clocks one hour ahead. Daylight Saving Time is four weeks longer since 2007 due to the passage of the Energy Policy Act in 2005. The Act extended Daylight Saving Time by four weeks from the second Sunday of March to the first Sunday of November, in order to save thousands of barrels of oil each day through reduced use of power by businesses during daylight hours.

Register Now For the Parks & Recreation 2010 Summer Program
Registration is now being accepted at all participating locations and the Parks and Recreation administration office, 1932 Calhoun Street. Summer camps begin on June 1st. The cost is $45 per week per child and there are no registration fees. Click the link above for more information.

The City of Columbia is now accepting grant applications for the 2010-2011 year for Hospitality Tax, Accommodations Tax, and Community Promotions Funding.

Hospitality Tax Funding

The City of Columbia is now accepting grant applications for

the 2010-2011 fiscal year.

To be eligible, your organization must have a 501 (c) (3) non-profit status and be a tourism-related agency with activities in the City of columbia. Completed application packets must be received by March 19, 2010, 12:00 noon.
