The City of Columbia Department of Parks and Recreation offers a wide variety of programs for children 3-12 years of age. The majority of these programs are held at our Recreation Centers. Summer offers many additional free and fee based programs.
Information about current recreation and sports programs (youth, adult, and seniors) can be found in Park Life Magazine - the department's six month program guide. The current issue runs from April - September 2010.
Youth League Play is for boys and girls ages 4-17. All registration forms must be signed by a parent and accompanied by a copy of the child’s birth certificate. Registration is $20 and includes the jersey, award and insurance.
Young athletes are exposed to a range of sports from basketball to golf. Our coaches offer a balance of games, sports instruction, and competitive play in citywide tournaments.
Citywide Adult Leagues are scheduled throughout the year for ages 18 years and above. Teams will play an eight to 10 game regular season and a tournament. Awards are presented to the regular season and tournament champions depending on the sport.

Because everyone needs a PAL!
Columbia
Parks and Recreation has expanded its youth outreach through - the Columbia Police Athletic League, a volunteer driven program. PAL makes it possible for all youth to participate in structured programs. Your support is needed to help develop our young athletes and teach them about sportsmanship, teamwork, and leadership!
