City to host Disaster Recovery Program Sessions for RAIN
Posted: July 06, 2017

City to host Disaster Recovery Program Sessions for (RAIN) Recovery Assistance for Impacted Neighborhoods during October 2015 flood

The City of Columbia experienced a devastating flood during October 2015 resulting in millions of dollars in damages to our citizens’ homes, businesses and local infrastructure.  Columbia is strong and resilient and is working hard to restore what was lost through its application for funding from various agencies to include the State of South Carolina, Federal Emergency Management Agency along with other grant programs dedicated toward disaster recovery.

On the road to recovery, the City of Columbia Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery staff will host a series of disaster recovery sessions. All sessions are open to the public. No registration required. Citizens impacted by the historic flood are encouraged to attend a session to gain valuable information about the recovery process.

During the sessions citizens will become knowledgeable about who is eligible, the most advantageous program for your needs and what documents you will need to verify households composition, income, property ownership and principle residency.
