Mayor Coble to Speak at Greater Columbia Community Relations Council 46th Annual Luncheon
The Greater Columbia Community Relations Council (CRC) will hold its 46th Annual Luncheon on Thursday, March 25, 2010 from 12:30p.m. to 2:00p.m. at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln Street. Mayor Bob Coble will be the keynote speaker at the luncheon. Tickets for this event are available to the public at the cost of $35 per person and must be purchased in advance by contacting the CRC office at 803.733.1130.

The City of Columbia is now accepting grant applications for the 2010-2011 year for Hospitality Tax, Accommodations Tax, and Community Promotions Funding.

Setting Up A New Account

Water accounts can be opened or transferred by submitting a water contract via e-mail (cocwater@columbiasc.net), postal delivery, fax(803 733-8219), or by visiting the customer service office at 1339 Main Street between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Please click here to download a copy of the application form.  YOUR REQUEST WILL NOT BE COMPLETE UNTIL THE CSR MAKES CONTACT WITH THE PERSON REQUESTING SERVICE. After receiving the required documents and a completed water service application, a Customer Service Representative will contact you to complete the transaction

A. We cannot accept request for service from a third party.

B. The account must be listed in the name of lessee or purchaser/owner of property.

C. We will request the following information:

1. The street address where water service is requested.

2. The name to appear on your account.

3. Mailing address if different from the service address.

4. Social Security Number.

5. Place of employment

6. Date service is to begin

7. Contact telephone numbers for home and work

8. Drivers License, Permit or State issued I.D.

9. Copy of Closing statement or Lease agreement (Page reflecting name of landlord and tenant: signature page)

IN SOME CASES, OUR REPRESENTATIVES WILL NOT BE ABLE TO EXTEND SERVICE AT THE TIME OF YOUR REQUEST. YOU MAY BE GIVEN ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTIONS AND REQUIREMENTS BEFORE SERVICE CAN BE ESTABLISHED.

There is a $30.00 New Account fee added to your first bill. There is an additional $15.00 connection fee.

TRANSFER SERVICE

All past due balances must be zero before service can be transferred. In some cases, your request to transfer may be denied if additional information is needed based on the new address. The Representative will inform you when denial is necessary.

All customers receive a water bill each month. If you do not receive a monthly bill, you must contact Customer Service immediately. Failure to receive a bill does not relieve the customer of the obligation for payment nor from the consequences of non-payment
